Fabian Hurzeler: Brighton head coach signs new long-term contract at the Amex as club chase European finish
Brighton have agreed a new long-term contract with head coach Fabian Hurzeler.
The 33-year-old's current terms were due to expire at the end of next season.
The deal is yet to be officially signed but is expected to happen soon. Sky Sports News understands that the Brighton hierarchy have been impressed with Hurzeler - with the club sitting eighth in the Premier League and challenging for a place in Europe with three games to go.
Hurzeler had been rumoured to be linked away from the Amex but talking to Sky Sports last month, the German coach shut down speculation suggesting a return to the Bundesliga.

"It's always an honour to be linked to these kinds of rumours and speculation but I'm really happy here," Hurzeler said.
"I'm very thankful for the trust and support the club has given me. I'm really enjoying my time here and therefore, we focus on a strong end to the season.
"I'm totally committed; there are no thoughts. In football, there is not always this loyalty from a club. I really feel trusted here and welcomed. I can express myself and really be successful with this team."

The Seagulls had six wins in eight games before a 3-1 defeat by Newcastle last weekend, as Hurzeler's side enjoyed a hot period of form.
Hurzeler joined Brighton in June 2024 and led the club to an eighth-place finish in his first season at the club. The former St Pauli boss, who is also the youngest manager in the league, is currently in the hunt for the club's second-ever season in Europe.
