SummerSlam results, live match coverage: Night two

WWE SummerSlam is going down tonight (Sun., Aug. 3, 2025) from MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, starting at 6:00 pm ET, live on Peacock (in the U.S.) and Netflix (everywhere else).

The show opens once again with Michael Cole dropping a Springsteen reference (Did you know he released a box set of SEVEN unreleased albums back in June? I found out on Bluesky while I was covering yesterday’s show and my god I love that man and his never-ending fountain of creativity.)

We get the montage of talent making their way through the arena and then a recap of last night’s show that turns into tonight’s opening hype reel.

Hunter Hearst-Helmsley makes his entrance and gets on the mic.

He says this is it, the moment, our time, and everyone here is part of the biggest SummerSlam in history. And if you thought last night was something, you ain’t seen nothing yet. So he asks if the crowd is ready, and they respond in the affirmative, so he welcomes them to SummerSlam.

Feeling out, Naomi bails to the floor and Ripley goes out after her, so she goes the other way but SKY hops out for the pincer move! Back inside, Naomi can’t get away without a fight so she gets ping-ponged between her challengers with elbows! She fights back, corner bulldog, off the top, diving crossbody on both of ‘em!

She throws Rhea to the floor, taking it to IYO in the ring, hair whip arm drags, putting her to the floor, meeting Ripley on the apron and biting her hand! Pulling SKY in, hanging X-Factor, cover for two! Setting them up, a springboard roundhouse kick makes Rhea DDT IYO, Naomi with the cover... NOPE!

Standing surfboard stomp, Naomi taunting the crowd, circling, up top, diving blockbuster takes Ripley down but can’t keep her out! Penalty Kick connects, but IYO comes off the top! Nobody home, roll through, sunset flip, Naomi rolls through and blasts her with a low enzuigiri that sends her to the floor!

Rhea drops Naomi with a facebuster, SKY comes in with a missile dropkick and a kip-up, Tiger feint kick from IYO and Ripley drops the champ with a German suplex! Turning to face SKY, the fight is on! La casadora, Rhea blcoks, electric chair facebuster connects, cover for two! Pumphandle, IYO reverses Riptide into a small package, only two!

Taking her down into an arm-trap crossface, SKY wrenches it in, Rhea rolls through, eats one kick, ducks the second, electric chair countered into a Poison Frankensteiner and Naomi breaks it up! Ripley with the Razor’s Edge on IYO, Tenryu Powerbomb follows, but Naomi pulls Rhea off the cover! Action to the floor and SKY takes both women out with an Asai moonsault!

Back inside, buzzsaw roundhouse takes the champion’s head off, IYO lines her up, Rhea comes in, she thinks fast, roll-through stomp connects! Corner knees for both her opponents, SKY running hot, double jump, Ripley cuts her off and climbs to join her! Naomi kicks Rhea’s legs out of her legs and hits the split-legged moonsault... IYO BREAKS IT UP WITH A MOONSAULT BUT NAOMI ROLLED AWAY!

Naomi catches IYO with an Edge-O-Matic rolled into a pin... STILL NO! Naomi landing right hands on IYO, she fires back Shoteis, the champion blasts her with a knee! Ripley back in, pumphandle, Riptide connects, folding press... IYO SKY BREAKS IT UP! Rhea nails Naomi with a boot that punts her to the floor, SKY puts her on the apron, Ripley nails her with a kick too, cannonball senton off the apron wipes the champ out!

A big exchange with a powerbomb sees IYO in control on the floor, she throws Rhea inside, goes up top, Ripley cuts her off, SKY fights back from the apron, hops up, headbutt, Rhea has her, pumphandle... AVALANCHE RIPTIDE CONNECTS BUT NAOMI BREAKS IT UP AND STACKS RIPLEY UP! IT’S OVER!

Naomi wins by pinfall with a schoolboy pin and a handful of tights on Rhea Ripley, retaining the WWE Women’s World Championship.

The Dudley Boyz and the Hardy Boyz are shown in the crowd in honor of the 25th anniversary of TLC.

Alright folks, bear with me, a lot is going to happen with not a lot of time to process it AND my wrists are a little sore already from spending five hours playing bass guitar in a sweaty lil recording studio in somebody’s attic immediately before rushing home to liveblog this show.

Anyway, chaos out the gate gives way to Fraxiom climbing a ladder and Joe Gacy cuts them off, throwing a chair hard at Axiom to knock him to the floor, Sabu-style! Cutting Frazer off atop the ladder, Joe drops him with a Death Valley Driver, Street Profits keep him from climbing and then back body drop him in the general direction of the ladder!

Rey Fenix hops up on Andrade’s shoulders and almost gets the titles down that way but the Street Profits cut them off! Three Amigos in duplicate (Six Amigos?), the luchadors in control, setting chairs on the Profits, but #DIY cut them off and beat everybody up with the chairs! DIY setting a ladder up and climbing but here come Motor City Machine Guns behind them!

Clearing DIY out they turn their focus to Gacy, he puts a table between the apron and the barricade... JOHNNY GARGANO HITS ONE FINAL BEAT OVER THE ROPES AND TO THE FLOOR THROUGH THE TABLE ON GACY! LUMIS DOUBLE LEG DROPS MONTEZ FORD THROUGH A TABLE! REY FENIX FROG SPLASHES FRAZER THROUGH A TABLE! DAWKINS GOES UP TOP BUT AXIOM CUTS HIM OFF AND PUTS HIM THROUGH A TABLE WITH A SPANISH FLY TO THE FLOOR!

Candice LeRae checks on Johnny and he tells her to get the titles! B-FAB is here to cut her off and Rock Bottoms her into a chair! B-FAB climbs and now Nikki Cross cuts her off... BACK SUPLEX OFF THE LADDER! Candice is stll here and she climbs, Johnny steadies the ladder for her but she’s too far from the belts to get a good grip!

Ford enzuigiris Ciampa and sends him spiraling into the ladder... CANDICE LERAE FALLS OFF THE LADDER AND THROUGH A LADDER BRIDGING THE APRON AND THE ANNOUNCE DESK AND TO THE FLOOR BREAKING THE LADDER CLEAN IN HALF!

Ford climbs, Erick Rowan knocks it over, Montez lands on his feet, big boot takes him down, knock the ladder over, Big Red powerbombs Ford into Dawkins in the corner! Double goozle, Profits slip out and they wail on Rowan with steel chairs but he gets back up... THEY POUNCE HIM THROUGH A DAMN TABLE LEANED IN THE CORNER!

Tom climbs the ladder but MCMG move the ladder out from under him! Frazer climbs to try and spear him off the belts but Ciampa sits up! Quebrada from Nathan... GARGANO SUPERKICKS HIM OUT OF MIDAIR! Johnny puts the ladder under his partner, Ford cuts Tom off, Axiom blasts Gargano with a superkick, four men from three teams on two ladders all reaching, joined by DIY, they take MCMG out of the equation and Uncle Howdy knocks the babyface ladder over!

Howdy knocks DIY’s ladder down... AND THEY CRASH TO THE FLOOR THROUGH TABLES! Uncle climbing the ladder, Nathan right behind him, he knocks Frazer down, Fenix climbs up with Howdy, Andrade joins him... SUNSET FLIP POWERBOMB PUTS HOWDY THROUGH THE LADDER! Rey climbs, reaches for the titles, but Dexter Lumis cuts him off with a chair and hits the suplex powerbomb onto a chair with Gacy’s help!

Joe climbs, Dexter looks out...

Wyatt 6 win by retrieving the title belts, retaining the WWE Tag Team Championship.
