SummerSlam results, live match coverage: Night one

WWE SummerSlam is going down tonight (Sat., Aug. 2, 2025) from MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, starting at 6:00 pm ET, live on Peacock (in the U.S.) and Netflix (everywhere else).

I know a thing or two about her; I know she’ll only make you cry. She’ll let you walk the street beside her, but when she wants to liveblog this here pro wrestling show for you, folks, well... she’s me.
The show opens with Michael Cole welcoming us to the show and dropping a Springsteen reference.
We get the usual montage of talent settling in at the arena and then into an introductory video package hyping the show up, narrated on-camera by a gentleman I don’t recognize.
Cardi B makes her entrance for a host segment wearing a black bustier and a huge off-the shoulder black feathered cape.
She’s very excited ot be hosting and for it to be the first two-day SummerSlam and welcomes us to the show.
All four men brawling at the bell, referee Chad Patton trying feebly to get them one in and one out, heels end up on the floor, Uso directing traffic and he wants to hear his music again and yeets with the crowd! Breakker pulls Reigns out of the ring, he and Reed beat the Tribal Chief down and Jey comes off the top and to the floor with a splash!
Back in the ring, Uso with jabs for Bron, big haymaker, Breakker off the ropes and he drops Jey with a big lariat! Bronson taking a turn, quick tags, and Uso is well on the wrong side of town. Breakker lands a big double knee gutbuster, Jey falls to the floor, Bron waits for him and dives... AND USO DODGES, PUTTING BREAKKER HARD INTO THE ANNOUNCE DESK KNEE-FIRST!
Back inside, Jey rushes across the ring but the heels pull Roman off the apron and deny him the tag! Bron putting boots to Uso, tag to Bronson, Jey with a float-over DDT and both men are down and out! Reigns gets back to his feet and back up on the apron... TAG MADE! Roman lights Bron up, big leaping lariat, corner lariats ensue!
Paul Heyman about having a heart attack at ringside, Breakker with a back elbow, off the ropes, Reigns catches him, off the ropes, lariat sends him to the floor! Roman stalking, off the ropes, feeling frisky... TRIBAL CHIEF TOPE CON GIRO! Back inside, Superman Punch to Reed, Bron with a schoolboy for two and then a rising knee!
The straps are down, Breakker is fired up, off the ropes, blind tag from Bronson, Superman Punch takes Bron off his feet! Reed with a freight train cannonball senton in the middle of the ring, he calls for it, corner body avalanche, fireman’s carry, Uso with a blind tag and a superkick to free the Tribal Chief!
Enzuigiri one, enzuigiri two, back elbow, enzuigiri three, Jey off the ropes but Bronson takes his head off with a lariat! Death Valley Driver follows, cover... NOPE! To the floor, Reed takes ‘em both out with a suicide dive, Bron dives Roman over the announce desk, Bronson throws Jey back inside, assisted diving bulldog... USO KICKS OUT! Superman Punch... ROMAN SPEARS BRON THROUGH THE BARRICADE!
Back in the ring, Superman Punch sets it up, 1D connects, Uso rolls Bronson over... BRON BREAKKER BREAKS IT UP! BRON FURIOUSLY PUTS HIS STRAPS BACK UP JUST SO HE CAN TAKE THEM BACK DOWN! Charging in, spear... ROMAN SHOVES JEY OUT OF THE WAY AND TAKES THE SPEAR FOR HIM! Uso with a superkick, off the top...
Bloodline wins by pinfall with the diving splash from Jey Uso on Bronson Reed.
We see a couple celebrities in the front row.
Perez and Bliss to start, Alexa sends her packing with an arm drag and tags Flair in. Charlotte clears the apron with a boot, Roxanne! climbs on her back with a sleeper, floats over, trading kicks, snapmare from the Queen, Rodriguez runs interference and Perez gets the better of her! Raquel tags in, gets her licks in, trading chops for elbows, whip to the corner, Flair Flip, to the apron, superkick connects!
Slingshot back in, Raquel catches her with a fallaway slam, tag to Roxanne! Handspring knee drop, cover for two! Choking Charlotte in the ropes, Rodriguez with a cheap shot, tag in, falling elbows and into a top wristlock! Flair gets away, diving Frankensteiner, Perez tags in to try and keep her from the tag!
Charlotte kicks her away and gets the tag! Bliss in hot, shoulder blocks, Lou Thesz Press into mounted punches, hauling off with big slaps and a dropkick, handspring knee drop, Raquel breaks it up! Roxanne! with an overrotated schoolboy, she blocks Sister Abigail with a rake of the eyes, charging corkscrew uppercut, double jump moonsault, nobody home!
Rodriguez tags in, flash kick from Alexa, snap DDT on Perez, Bliss goes up top, Twisted Bliss... KNEES ARE UP! Folding press from Raquel for two, big boot assists a side Russian legsweep, Alexa kicks out! Referee Jessika Carr and her yellow-orange gradient eyeshadow keeping Charlotte out of the match, Roxanne! with a mat slam and a tag.
Raquel boot to the midsection, scoopign Alexa up into a Canadian backbreaker rack, she fights out, rolls away from an elbow drop, Rodriguez pulls her away from her corner and bowls her over with a shoulder block! Flair back in, fallaway slam and a kip-up, looking for the Figure Eight but Perez breaks it up with with moonsault!
Quick tags, Raquel with a slam, Roxanne! hits Pop Rox... BLISS BREAKS IT UP! She’s got Perez hooked, Flair rushes past her to take Rodriguez out with a boot... SISTER ABIGAIL DDT CONNECTS! THEY DID IT!
Alexa Bliss & Charlotte Flair win by pinfall with the Sister Abigail DDT from Bliss on Roxanne! Perez, becoming your new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.
Post-match the new champs hug and it’s all very... friendly.
Latino World Order, Alpha Academy, and New Day fight over the last slice of Papa John’s when Nikki Bella rolls up with a few more pies for everybody to share.
Yeah it’s an ad but it’s kind of charming all the same.
Whoever loses the match will admit that the winner is correct about Sami Zayn’s essential nature.
