Eintracht Frankfurt vs Bochum prediction, best bets, TV & live stream

Eintracht Frankfurt hope to salvage their European lives as they host relegation-threatened VfL Bochum at Deutsche Bank Park in a Friday Bundesliga showdown.

Last year's Europa League winners have hit a skid, winless in their last four and dropping out of the Champions League places. They now sit sixth, five points behind the next team above them, and the likes of Wolfsburg, Bayer Leverkusen, and Mainz are all nipping at the heels.

Revenge is on the cards as well, as they seek payback for the 3-0 defeat suffered at Bochum in October. It was a wonky result that saw a 71st minute strike by Philipp Hofmann boosted further by a late pair of goals at the death.

Bochum, four points above the relegation zone, hit a rough patch to start 2023, but they've rebounded lately, beating Koln and RB Leipzig in their last two matches, keeping clean sheets in both.

The Sporting News football betting expert Kyle Bonn shares his best bets, props, and high risk/high return fliers for some of the biggest matches in the sport each week. Since the start of 2023, his best bets have hit 53.6% of the time, while his overall selections have generated a profit of over 35 units thus far. He has also correctly predicted 37 of 66 match outcomes via his three-way moneyline leans to date.

This match could go either way, with Frankfurt the better team on paper but in worse form, and both sides are tough to get a bead on. Still, Frankfurt are home, and their defeats both last time out out against RB Leipzig and in the reverse fixture against Bochum were fluky in their own ways.

They should turn things around in this match, but given the odd nature of each team's recent form, a draw seems like a probable result all things considered, and Bochum would certainly take the point.

Frankfurt are having a strange season, where down is up and up is down. They put in a great attacking performance last time out on the road at a solid (but slipping) Union Berlin side, but came up empty on 19 shots worth 2.21 xG. A closer look at the match shows Union Berlin goalkeeper Frederik Ronnow stood on his head, saving a pair of great chances by Daichi Kamada among other big moments.

Bochum netminder Manuel Riemann put in a similar performance against RB Leipzig last time out, but he's struggled to make up for the league's leakiest defense across the season as a whole.

Both teams haven't scored in Bochum's last six league games, but that's likely to change here given both Frankfurt and Bochum can produce chances while also proving vulnerable at the back.
