Who among us hasn't watched children get a little overconfident and wished we could go out and humble them a bit? An assistant coach for a Virginia high school girls' basketball team got to live out that dream when a junior varsity player was out of town for a tournament. The 22-year-old Arlisha Boykins suited up in lieu of the "real" player and played for Churchland High School against Nansemond River. The repercussions were dire. In a meeting, the players reportedly decided on ending both the JV and varsity seasons after the Jan. 21 incident, per USA Today. Arlisha Boykins, a 22-year-old former assistant coach on the Churchland JV girls basketball team, impersonated a 13-year-old player that played for the Truckers and is no longer an employee of Portsmouth Public Schools. https://t.co/ycviSVKg89— WAVY TV 10 (@WAVY_News) Boykins' employment with Churchland was also terminated. According to WAVY, the district is also further investigating the incident.
