Jack Wilshere Retires At Age Of 30

Jack Wilshere, a former Arsenal midfielder, has declared his retirement from the game at the age of 30. Wilshere rose through the Arsenal ranks and, following a year on loan at Bolton, established himself as a key member of the first squad for the 2010/11 season. Wilshere, still a teenager, played 35 Premier League appearances in the 2010/11 season, winning the club’s Player of the Season title, the PFA Young Player of the Year award, and was chosen to the PFA Team of the Year. However, he would miss the entire 2011/12 season due to a pre-season injury, which would tragically become a recurring trend throughout his career.
