Hairstylist and wigmaker Tokyo Stylez — also known as Mia Jackson — worked with Cardi to create a Y2K-ready long pigtail with bright, chunky, crimson highlights that Jackson shares were inspired by the work of stylist Davontae' Washington, who recently created a similar style on YouTube and TikTok star Quenlin Blackwell. Cardi's look, which would be perfectly at home in the early '00s and in 2022, features long black lengths pulled up in cute Baby Spice-style half-pigtails accented with vibrant pops of scarlet á la Hot Topic chic, with a few pieces pulled out to frame her face.
