EU won't let Hungary hold Ukraine aid hostage

The European Union intends to transfer EUR 18 billion ($18 billion) in financial aid to Ukraine despite Hungary's protestations, Executive Vice President of the European Commission Valdis Dombrovskis said, as reported by Euractiv on Dec. 6. “Ukraine is a country at war and it desperately needs our support and we just cannot allow one member state to delay and derail this financial support,” Dombrovskis said.
