Putin Has Been Getting Ready for War against NATO: Military Expert Described Two Scenarios of “Invasion” into the West

Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin has been getting ready for direct military confrontation with the NATO countries, however his plans were disrupted by Ukrainian defenders, who stopped the invaders from going further West. After Russia’s victory over Ukraine Putin wanted to invade Europe either through the Baltic States or through Moldova and Romania, Oleksandr Musiienko, the Head of Military and Legal Research Center, said in his interview for Channel 24. "They would definitely go forwards – it’s absolutely clear now. This success would inspire and encourage them. If they defeated Ukraine, there would be two options. The first option is invasion into the Baltic States, and the second option is causing troubles for Romania via Moldova”, the expert said. According to him, in the second scenario Romania itself also might become Putin’s target. In particular, Budapest, which is acting in Russia’s, interests, may start raising question about the rights of ethnic Hungarians in Romania. "This would be another option to brake the NATO unity. They have been developing these plans, and some of their generals have even voiced them previously. During his briefing, Russian General Minnakayev once claimed that the Russia’s goal in the southern part of Ukraine was to secure a “land corridor” to the self-proclaimed Transnistria, which would result in a conflict with Moldova and potentially a conflict with Romania", Musiienko added.
