Deputy of the German Bundestag Gregor Gysi, in response to the question of whether it is necessary for the UN General Assembly to adopt a resolution that the use of nuclear weapons by Russia against Ukraine would be a declaration of war on humanity, the politician replied that such a step by the Russian Federation would lead to the outbreak of the Third World War and its self-distruction.
The German politician made the corresponding statement in Guildhall's commentary.
"If Russia uses nuclear weapons against Ukraine, with or without a UN General Assembly resolution, all of humanity will suffer, and such a move will lead to the Third World War. So I assume and hope that it will not come to this… And I would react to the threat itself in such a way that if Russia leads to the Third World War, it will destroy itself," the politician summed up.
