The head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry, Kyrylo Budanov, explained the changes in the military leadership in Moscow.
In an interview with NV, he called the reports of mass arrests within the FSB an exaggeration, but noted that to a certain extent some combing-out had taken place.
"What most of the media are saying is a bit exaggerated. In terms of the quantitative and qualitative composition of this comb-out. Yes, there are very significant changes among the military leadership, at the level of commanders of branches, commanders in the army and so on. These are not really public people and the mass media do not write much about it," Budanov said.
According to him, there are certain changes and number of arrested people in special services of the Russian Federation. For example, General Sergei Beseda, who was responsible in the FSB for providing operational information on Ukraine.
