Discussions during Sikorski's visit will focus on support for Ukraine. In particular, Poland is preparing a new military aid package that it plans to equip with air defense systems.
Polish Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maciej Wewiór said the visit was a show of support for Ukraine as it continues to fight.
Background
This is not Sikorski's first visit to Kyiv in 2026. The Polish foreign minister also visited the Ukrainian capital in February to mark the anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
During that visit, Sikorski noted that the Russians had hoped to hold a "victory parade" that day, but Ukraine continued to defend itself.
Poland's Foreign Ministry described Sikorski's February visit to Kyiv as "an expression of solidarity with Ukraine and its citizens, as well as confirmation of Poland's unwavering support."
Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski first visited Ukraine on December 22, 2023. It was his first trip abroad after taking office.
