Russia launches massive attack on Ukraine with more than 200 drones and missiles, targeting Kyiv and Odesa regions
Starting at 6 p.m. on August 31, Russia attacked Ukraine with:
The main directions of the attack were Odesa and Kyiv regions. The air assault was repelled by Ukrainian Air Force aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data, as of 8:30 a.m. on September 1, Ukrainian air defense forces had shot down or suppressed 199 targets:
Missile and attack UAV strikes were recorded at 28 locations, while debris from downed targets fell at 10 locations. In addition, some enemy missiles failed to reach their targets, and their locations are still being determined.
The attack is ongoing, with more than 10 enemy drones currently in Ukrainian airspace.
