US blogger Loomer visits Ukraine, admits after Bucha trip she believed Russian propaganda for years

On the evening of July 20, Loomer published a video with the caption:

Upon her arrival in Ukraine, First Deputy Head of the Office of the President, Serhii Kyslytsia, welcomed the blogger.

"It's great to see you traveling to Ukraine the only right way to get to know its people and what they stand for," he wrote in a post.

Later, Russian propaganda TV channel Russia Today reminded Loomer of her previous statements, in which she:

In response, the blogger said she would not delete her old posts because she wants to acknowledge her mistake openly.

"So I came to Ukraine to see the country for myself. I am going to try to find evidence for the propaganda I've been fed, and if I don't find it, I will let everyone know so they too can come to see the light," she wrote.

According to Loomer, during her first day in Ukraine, she saw photos of priests killed by Russian troops in Bucha, as well as a mass grave where murdered civilians had been buried.

After that, the blogger said she had changed her attitude toward Russian aggression.

Journalist Ostap Yarysh noted that on the day of Loomer's arrival, she published several posts stressing the danger posed by Russia. In one of them, the blogger wrote that Americans should be very concerned about Russian propaganda, Russia's alliance with China and Iran, and the "increasing threats to kill Trump."

She stressed that Russia is responsible for the abduction and deportation of thousands of Ukrainian children, "some of whom were tortured."

"Russia is not our friend. […] We cannot have sympathy for any nation that is assisting Iran with the murder of US soldiers and the destruction of US bases in the Middle East. I welcome everyone in MAGA to reform their previous held views on Russia," she wrote.

Yarysh also added that Loomer has more than two million followers on X and is considered an influential figure among Donald Trump's supporters. According to him, during her stay in Ukraine, the blogger plans to hold several meetings and record a special episode of her podcast.
