Taira Liberated from Russian Captivity Described the Nightmare of Enemy Concentration Camp

Paievska spoke about her detention in Donetsk jail, where many other Ukrainian prisoners of war were kept together with her. In her interview for Deutsche Welle, Yulia “Taira” Paievska, a Ukrainian paramedic recently liberated from Russian captivity, spoke about her nightmare experience and how she managed to survive the inhumane conditions of detention. According to Taira, the invaders attempted to drive her to suicide.  "They used psychological pressure and coercion in a very professional manner. It was very hard to filter the information and tell truth from lies. They immediately notified me: “You will die anyway, so you should better do it yourself. Of course, it would be too easy and convenient outcome for them, so I decided to rob them of this pleasure”, Paievska recalls.
