Live: Chelsea vs. Tottenham from Stamford Bridge

It's Matchweek 2 of the new Premier League season and we've already got our first battle of the 'Big Six' with Chelsea hosting rivals Tottenham at Stamford Bridge. Thomas Tuchel's Blues notched a narrow 1-0 win over Everton in their season opener, while Spurs ran riot against Southampton in a 4-1 triumph at home. While Harry Kane, Son Heung-min and Dejan Kulusevski all looked sharp against Saints, Chelsea's front three struggled to get going with new arrival Raheem Sterling playing down the middle flanked by Kai Havertz and Mason Mount. Chelsea didn't concede a goal in their 2-0 and 3-0 Premier League meetings with Spurs last season, or their 3-0 aggregate-goal triumph in the Carabao Cup semifinals. But Conte's side looks to be a different beast right now and poses a much tougher task. The Sporting News is following the Chelsea-Tottenham match live and providing live score updates and commentary. MORE: When will Chelsea, Spurs learn their UEFA Champions League group? This promises to be the most compelling fixture in the Premier League this weekend. City and Liverpool might be the dominant duo, but if anyone is going to stick with them this season it's most likely to be one of Chelsea or Spurs. Sterling played well last weekend, but Havertz and Mount were quiet. 50 mins to kickoff: Unsurprisingly, Conte sticks with the same team that demolished Southampton last week. Kulusevski keeps his place in the side which makes this an attacking selection by Spurs. Premier League 22/23 // Episode two 📺 pic.twitter.com/gy0CVbaWt9— Tottenham Hotspur (@SpursOfficial) 80 mins to kickoff: Will Marc Cucurella be handed his first start as a Chelsea player this afternoon? The former Barcelona left back was impressive off the bench against Everton. Kalidou Koulibaly and Raheem Sterling are expected to start once again for the Blues. 90 mins to kickoff: It will be interesting to see if Thomas Tuchel sticks with the same XI that started at Goodison Park last weekend. Chelsea got the three points in a 1-0 win over Everton, but they played like a team that is still figuring some things out, particularly in attack. 100 mins to kickoff: The heat at Stamford Bridge could be a factor in this afternoon's match. It is genuinely very warm. There will be cooling breaks, just as there has been throughout the Premier League this weekend. it's very hot pic.twitter.com/cco2Q9Dy6F— Tottenham Hotspur (@SpursOfficial) 110 mins to kickoff: Chelsea and Tottenham both started their 2022/23 Premier League campaigns with wins on opening weekend. This, however, will be a better gauge of where these two teams are and how strong they are right now. Two hours to kickoff: The big theme of this match will be whether Tottenham can show they are more competitive against Chelsea than they were last season (outscored 8-0 over four matches). Here's what the two coaches had to say about it. "I'm not a journalist, you can tell better than me" 😂Antonio Conte gives a frank answer when asked if his Tottenham side have closed the gap on Chelsea pic.twitter.com/m1uGlpNjHj— The Sun Football ⚽ (@TheSunFootball) Tuchel on Conte's comments last season about a gap between Chelsea and Tottenham: "I don't believe everything Antonio Conte says before and after games."I admire him a lot and I believe every team he trains competes for everything. This is what he proves right now." #CFC— Adam Newson (@AdamNewson) MORE: Last time Tottenham Hotspur won a trophy Kalidou Koulibaly was substituted during the second half at Everton, but Tuchel confirmed the former Napoli defender was merely suffering from cramps and he starts again. Left wingback Marc Cucurella has been handed his first start as a Chelsea player with Ben Chilwell dropped to the bench. Tuchel sticks with the same frontline that started against Everton, but Ruben Loftus-Cheek comes into the team which could push Reece James back into right centre back. Chelsea lineup (3-4-3, right to left): Mendy (GK) — James, Thiago Silva, Koulibaly — Loftus-Cheek, Kante, Jorginho, Cucurella — Mount, Havertz; Sterling. Five of Antonio Conte's summer signings had to be content with a place on the bench against Southampton on opening weekend and the Spurs manager has stuck with the same team after such an emphatic display. Richarlison is available after suspension but only joins the substitutes which isn't surprising given how lethal Dejan Kulusevski, Son Heung-min and Harry Kane looked in tandem. Tottenham lineup (3-4-3): Lloris (GK) — Romero, Dier, Davies — Emerson, Hojbjerg, Bentancur, Sessegnon — Kulusevski, Son; Kane.
