Denys Shmyhal signed a joint statement with Robert Fico

A meeting between Ukrainian PM Denys Shmyhal and his Slovak counterpart Robert Fico, who yesterday insisted that "there is no war in Kyiv", has ended in Uzhhorod, where the politicians came to an agreement on a number of issues and have specific agreements.

According to his information, the Slovak Government isn't going to block Ukraine's purchase of weapons and equipment from Slovak businesses.

Kyiv and Bratislava will also cooperate on supplies of Slovak equipment for the construction of defense lines.

Slovakia has agreed to support "Ukraine Facility" program, which involves the allocation of €50 billion from the EU to our country.

"PM Fico assured me of full support for Ukraine's European integration aspirations," Denys Shmyhal emphasized, adding that Ukraine and Slovakia will continue productive cooperation for the sake of security and prosperity of our countries.

Following the meeting, Shmygal and Fitzo signed a joint statement that strengthened bilateral relations on the basis of mutual trust and respect.

In particular, the document reaffirmed readiness for further cooperation aimed at respect for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders;

noted the Slovak Republic's firm and consistent support for Ukraine's European integration;

expressed their support for the "Peace Formula" of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky;

noted the importance of Slovakia's participation in the rebuilding of Ukraine and the appointment of the Deputy Prime Minister for the Recovery and Resilience Plan and knowledge economy of the Slovak Republic;

reaffirmed the importance of Slovakia's participation in the humanitarian demining of Ukraine;

noted the importance of joint efforts to ensure global food security, increase transit potential for export of Ukrainian agricultural products;

emphasized the importance of developing military-technical cooperation on a commercial basis.

We shall remind you that Slovak PM Robert Fico earlier said that Ukraine should cede the territories occupied by Russia in order to end the war.
