The first caravan of ships with Ukrainian grain left the ports of…

On the morning of August 5, the first caravan of ships with Ukrainian grain left the ports of Ukraine. This was announced on Facebook by the Minister of Infrastructure Oleksandr Kubrakov. He clarified that there are 57,000 tons of corn on board the three bulkers NAVI STAR, ROJEN and POLARNET, which are headed for Turkey, Great Britain and Ireland. ‘Shipping from the port of Chornomorsk has been resumed with today’s caravan. We expect that the security guarantees of our partners from the UN and Turkey will continue to work, and the export of food from our ports will become stable and predictable for all market participants,’ – the head of the Ministry of Infrastructure emphasized. Kubrakov noted that Ukraine plans to ensure the ability of ports to handle more than 100 vessels per month. ‘Although the ‘grain corridor’ has already started working at the exit, our goal is the full operation of the ports in both directions. We receive applications from ship owners who are ready to enter our ports for loading, and the first call is expected tomorrow. Our goal is three and more a million tons of export agricultural products every month from the ports of Odesa, Chornomorsk and Pivdenny,’ – the minister said. He also added that the export of 20 million tons of the harvest last year will accelerate the export of the new one and improve the food situation in the world.
