Cowboys-Giants DraftKings Showdown lineup

The Cowboys and Giants meet in the Meadowlands for a Week 3 divisional clash, with both teams looking a bit different than anyone expected in the preseason. Dallas (1-1) has Cooper Rush starting under center, after Dak Prescott suffered a broken thumb in Week 1 versus the Buccaneers. The Giants sport a 2-0 record, due in large part to running back Saquon Barkley's return to dominance. Today we'll reveal our favorite DraftKings Showdown lineup for this NFC East primetime bout, setting you up for a Monday night payday. Rush was cool, calm, and collected in Week 2 against the reigning AFC-champion Bengals, leading the 'boys to a 20-17 victory and often looking better than Prescott did in Week 1. He enjoyed a strong offensive performance from Pro Bowl wideout CeeDee Lamb and also some unlikely gems from RB2 Tony Pollard and veteran receiver Noah Brown. The Giants, meanwhile, have loved every minute with former Bills offensive coordinator Brian Daboll as their head coach. This is New York's first 2-0 start since 2016, when Eli Manning was still making passes to Odell Beckham Jr. The G-men will look to win the franchise's opening three games for the first time since 2009, but they have a strong Cowboys defense coming into town. MORE MNF: FanDuel lineup | Schultz injury update Before we get into our picks, here are the key scoring settings for DraftKings Showdown contests: They're full-point PPR and there are three-point bonuses for 300 passing yards, 100 rushing yards, and 100 receiving yards. The Captain pick costs 1.5 times a player's original price, but he also gets his point total multiplied by 1.5. MORE DK SHOWDOWN: How to win a Showdown contest $50,000 budget, need at least one player from each team. Conventional wisdom may suggest picking a QB as Captain in Showdown Mode, but we will shy away from that notion given the below-average QB matchup and above-average defenses. We'll also avoid big-named skill-position players like Saquon Barkley, Ezekiel Elliott, and CeeDee Lamb, opting instead for the home run/lotto-ticket pick of Pollard. One of our preseason sleeper RBs, Pollard has looked like the best back in Dallas since the start of the 2021 season. His efficiency, elusiveness, and overall skill set have all been far superior to Elliott's, with the latter scoring more points in 2021 thanks to sheer volume and red-zone touches. Well, in Week 2 we witnessed a market correction: Pollard logged 19.8 fantasy points, while Elliott recorded just 5.9 points for the second-consecutive game. The sixth-highest priced MNF player, TP could easily wind up the top scorer this week against a Giants squad that's allowed 304 yards and 52.4 DraftKings points to RBs so far. The Pollard train is leaving the station, folks — jump on before it's too late! WEEK 3 DFS LINEUPS: FanDuel | DraftKings | Yahoo Now that we have the best RB for the Cowboys, we will select arguably the most talented overall offensive player in this contest in Barkley. While we didn't like the stud RB's $17,700 price tag for the Captain spot — that selection would have strapped our remaining FLEX budget — we have no issue with spending $11,800 on the 2018 Rookie of the Year. Barkley has 236 rushing yards on 39 carries (6.1 yards per tote), and he has caught nine-of-11 targets for 46 receiving yards. He also has a touchdown and a two-point conversion on the season. His 48.2 DraftKings points trail only the Browns' Nick Chubb. And while the Cowboys have yet to allow a RB touchdown this season, they have allowed RBs to amass 200 ground yards and 51 air yards on eight-of-nine attempts. Barkley's the best bet at FLEX. WEEK 3 DFS: Best values | Best stacks Now that we have the two best backs in the game, we will draft the best wide receiver in the game. Lamb flashed moments of brilliance in the Cowboys' Week 2 victory over AFC defending-champion Cincy, hauling in 7-of-11 targets for 75 yards. The third-year stud and reigning Pro Bowler has yet to find the end zone — something he did 12 times over his first two season — but he seems like a good bet to come away with a score this week. New York has allowed three passing TDs so far this season, and Lamb logged 92 yards and a TD when these squads met in Arlington early last season. WEEK 3 PPR RANKINGS:QBs | RBs | WRs | TEs | D/STs | Kickers By selecting Brown, we feel we have effectively monopolized the Cowboys' top offensive weapons going into this divisional tilt. Brown has emerged as Cooper Rush's favorite target since the Prescott injury, even calling the young receiver "a baller." The fifth-year starter has recorded five receptions in each of the first two weeks, totaling 159 yards and a TD. His 15.9 yards-per-reception average ranks fourth among NFL players with 10 or more catches. Rush and Brown are training-camp buddies, and clearly have a rapport. Capitalize on this bargain-bin value, because he might not be this cheap in PPR formats the rest of the season. WEEK 3 STANDARD RANKINGS:QBs | RBs | WRs | TEs | D/STs | Kickers As you can probably already tell, we have the Cowboys winning this game. We just can't envision Daniel Jones and the Giants' meager passing attack establishing enough rhythm against this elite Cowboys defense to win the game. The Giants' two wins have come against the Titans and Panthers, two of the more hapless teams out of the gates this season. Micah Parsons and this Dallas D, meanwhile, have held seven-time champion Tom Brady and his Bucs to 19 points and defending AFC-champion Cincy to 17 points. They have surrendered two total TDs, and none on the ground. So, yeah, good luck to the G-men in this one. It seems like whenever we end up with $4,300 or less in Showdown Mode, we roll with the best kicker in the matchup. But who else in this price range has a ceiling as high as Gano, who just nailed 4-of-4 field goal attempts and totaled 17 points in Week 2? Not the Giants defense, which has scored four points and seven points in their first two games against below-average offenses. Not Giants receiver Kadarius Toney, who has a hamstring injury and might rank as one of the bigger WR busts in fantasy to date. You could maybe argue for Brett Maher at $4,200 here, but I'd rather have the superior kicker on the worse overall team. The Cowboys have allowed the fifth-fewest passing TDs and zero rushing TDs, but they have allowed the second-most made field goals (3.5 per game). This feels like the final piece to our Showdown puzzle. Let's get that money!
