A historic boxing card will be taking place on Sept. 10, as Claressa Shields vs. Savannah Marshall headlines an all-women’s boxing card inside the O2 Arena in London.
On the line will be the title of undisputed middleweight champion. Shields will put her WBA, WBC, WBF, and The Ring titles on the line, while Marshall defends the WBO title in a grudge match years in the making.
The co-main event will see Mikaela Mayer vs. Alycia Baumgardner for the WBO, IBF, The Ring, WBC, and IBO junior-lightweight titles.
At the 2012 AIBA Women's World Boxing Championships, Shields lost to Marshall, the only loss of her amateur and pro boxing career. Never one to hold back, Shields is ready to end any debate over who the better fighter is.
“Savannah Marshall got lucky in 2012, but she won’t get lucky in 2022,” Shields said during a pre-fight press conference. “The Olympics and the amateurs matter to you. As an amateur, you went 60-16 with zero knockouts. I was 77-1, 19 KOs. You had zero (knockouts). You can’t do anything I can do. You can sit here and talk, but you’re not going to win on September 10.”

Since that fight, Shields, a two-time Olympic gold medalist, became undisputed middleweight champion in 2019 when she beat Christina Hammer. She became the undisputed light-middleweight champion in 2021 when she took down Marie Eve Dicaire. The 27-year-old has also won gold at super-middleweight.
Marshall made her pro debut in 2017. Marshall won the WBO middleweight title in October 2020 and has defended it three times. Her last fight was a knockout win over Femke Hermans in April. Marshall is ready to add knockout No. 11 to her record.
“I’ve knocked out people you went 10 rounds with. I’m not just going to beat you. I’m going to hurt you and outbox you,” Marshall stated. “That’s all you need to know. I’m a better fighter. I’ll have all her world titles on September 10.”
Mayer made her pro debut in 2017. A WBC-NABF super-featherweight champion, she won the WBO junior-lightweight title against Ewa Brodnicka in 2020. In November 2021, Mayer won the IBF and The Ring junior-lightweight titles against the hard-hitting Maiva Hamadouche.
Baumgardner made her pro debut in 2017. After a loss against Christina Linardatou in 2018, she has gone on a six-fight win streak. In 2021, Baumgardner made herself known by knocking out Terri Harper to win the WBC and IBO junior-lightweight titles.

Claressa Shields vs. Savannah Marshall takes place on September 10. The main card is expected to start at 11 a.m. ET. Shields and Marshall should make their way to the ring around 4 p.m. ET, depending on how long the undercard fights last.
