Jake Paul’s goal of fighting rival Tommy Fury may end up in the rearview mirror.
It was reported earlier this week that Fury, who agreed to face Paul on August 6 in Madison Square Garden, has been denied entry to the United States. The issue was with his ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authority) documents. As a result, Fury didn't attend a planned press conference in New York on Wednesday, June 29.
Fury has had visa issues in the past. TMZ later reported that the restriction may have been a result of Tyson Fury, Tommy's half-brother, and his previous association with Daniel Kinahan. Tommy's father, John, has been denied a visa to the U.S. several times after being found guilty of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm after gouging a man's eye out in a brawl in 2010.

Recently, Dublin’s High Court has named Daniel Kinahan, the founder of MTK Global and someone who has advised Tyson in the past, a senior figure in organized crime. That includes involvement in international drug-trafficking operations and firearm offenses. U.S. officials in Ireland announced a $15 million reward regarding any information on Kinahan and his family. The U.S. has also halted anyone connected to Kinahan from entering the country. So far, over 600 people have been denied entry.
Not long ago, Tyson was refused entry into the United States by U.S. immigration. This past May, however, Tommy was allowed in the U.S. After missing out on Wednesday's press conference, Paul has given Fury an ultimatum. It appears he is ready to move on.

Fury was supposed to fight Paul in December. At the last second, Fury backed out because of a broken rib. Tyron Woodley took his place, and in a last-minute affair, Paul knocked out Woodley in what was a rematch from their August 2021 fight. Paul and Fury have been calling one another out over the past few months. The MSG bout became official just a few weeks ago.

It is unknown if Paul will head to the U.K. and face Fury, as John Fury suggested he should. KSI, hosting a boxing card in the U.K., offered for Paul to fight on his card. Paul continued to call out Fury on social media, stating that Fury’s lawyers are encouraging him to head to an embassy to resolve his visa issues. Per Paul, Fury isn’t showing any urgency.

“I think the Fury family is trying to manipulate something here to make me fight in the U.K. OK. You want me to fight in the U.K.? Show me $15 million. Because here in America we do more pay-per-view buys, we do more ticket sales, and we do more sponsorships,” Paul stated.
“I’ve shown you the money. We’re ready to go. MSG, August 6. Tommy, you’re going to miss out on the biggest payday of your life because you want me to come to the U.K.? Like I said, I’ll come there. Just show me the money, but y’all can’t do that. Y’all don’t have $15 million. This is embarrassing. Go to the embassy, get your visa, and let’s make this fight happen. Stop ducking me and stop wasting my time.”
A replacement has not been named if the Fury fight won’t happen on August 6. Names linked to Paul in the past include Anderson Silva and Sonny Bill Williams.
