Russia's war against Ukraine will not end soon. This opinion was expressed by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky during a meeting of Chatham House .
The President noted that Ukraine is striving to achieve victory in the war as soon as possible, achieve territorial integrity and begin the restoration of destroyed property, in particular, using funds confiscated in Russia.
We do not see the end of the war yet. We do not feel and do not see any desire on the Russian side to complete it. And we do not see satisfactory solutions to the challenges that Russia has provoked with this war,” Zelensky says.
The President emphasized that the Russian-Ukrainian war would have global consequences in many areas. First of all, we are talking about challenges for the food security of hundreds of millions of people, including in the Middle East. Indeed, according to Zelensky, the traditional supply chains of key food products in the region have been disrupted.
Since February 24, there has not been a single day that we have not been negotiating on providing us with weapons, strengthening sanctions against Russia, and the like. And there was not a single day when we would not negotiate a safe exit and a "green corridor" for people who are under siege in Mariupol, Zelensky said.
The President added that world leaders are beginning to realize the global consequences of this war, although in the early days they had pessimistic expectations about Ukraine's ability to repel Russian aggression.
