Europe must have a seat at the negotiating table: London summit participants issue joint statement

During the meeting, the parties also outlined five key conditions that, in their view, should ensure a just and sustainable peace.

The participants separately noted Ukraine's latest battlefield successes, including the liberation of territories and the innovative use of drone technologies.

At the same time, they condemned Russia's large-scale missile and drone attacks against Ukraine, including the repeated use of Oreshnik missiles, as well as incidents involving Russian drones entering the airspace of NATO countries.

In addition, the parties discussed further support for Ukraine. They paid significant attention to how NATO can use Ukraine's combat experience, as well as to the prospects for long-term industrial cooperation with Ukraine to strengthen Europe's defense capabilities.

The participants also praised Volodymyr Zelenskyi's call to end the war through negotiations, as set out in his June 4 letter to Putin.

After the talks, the Ukrainian president thanked UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron, and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz for their support. According to Zelenskyi, the meeting took place in the E3-Ukraine format.

It is important that our assessments align with those of our partners: Russia is not winning on the battlefield, and our mid-range and deep-strike capabilities are significantly limiting its ability to expand its aggression. But it is very important that we also have protection against the ballistic threats with which the Russians are terrorizing our cities and communities," the president said.

According to Zelenskyi, the meeting also covered ways to step up diplomatic efforts and Europe's role in that process.

"For Ukraine, it has always been a priority that Europe's position and voice in the negotiations be strong. I thank Britain, France, and Germany for their support and readiness to help. We agreed that our teams will work on the next steps," the head of state added.
