Some occupiers find it difficult to even unlock the iPhone. Volunteer from Melitopol — about

On February 26, 2022, Russian troops entered Melitopol and completely occupied the city by March 1. It has been occupied for more than two months. Since then, high-profile local rallies against the occupation have taken place in Melitopol, the occupiers have kidnapped city mayor Ivan Fedorov and other activists, and tried to create their own "authorities." Protests and guerrilla resistance continue in the city. Ivan Fedorov claims that the guerrillas have already killed about a hundred occupiers. Volunteer and activist Yelyzaveta spent almost two months in the occupation, and in late April she managed to leave Melitopol. Babel editor Dmytro Rayevsky spoke with Yelyzaveta about life of the occupied city, the food and medicine situation, how the Russians are trying to break the resistance of the locals, and how the locals are waiting for the Ukrainian army to liberate them.
