Doja Cat's Gold Nail Jewelry Is Even Better Than Nail Polish

At the 2022 Billboard Music Awards on May 15, Doja Cat took home four trophies for Top R&B Artist, Top R&B Female Artist, Top Viral Song, and Top R&B. If that wasn't enough, the "Kiss Me More" singer made our jaws drop at the stunning Schiaparelli black gown and gold accessories she wore for the awards show. By now we expect the pop star to capture our attention with every new look, but we didn't expect her to show up to the event with short nails or intricate gold rings that look like they're worth more than my student loans. The "Say So" singer didn't hesitate with taking risks for this look, something we love from her. Makeup artist Ernesto Casillas gave her a neutral smokey eye with a hint of bright yellow on the inner crease and waterline that complemented the daring gown well. As for her hair, hairstylist Jared Henderson (known as JStay Ready to many) slicked her dark hair into a high ponytail with a flipped end that we have a good feeling was fun to whip around. Typically Doja Cat wears lengthy nails, but for this look, she kept them short. Nail artist Saccia painted her rounded nails with the pale pink OPI Nail Polish in Bare My Soul for a minimalist vibe. But this manicure is anything but simple, because this opulent jewelry is basically nail art. Her middle finger had the largest ring, which covered her whole finger and nail. The ring is mostly gold, except for the two large baby blue gems on the finger. The ring extends into a golden nail that's much longer than Doja Cat's own. The other two rings were simpler, which is saying something. Two golden nail rings wrapped around her thumb and index finger. Doja Cat always has fun beauty looks, whether it's a brightly colored wig or simple nude nails with a colorful accent. Even though her own nails weren't as long as usual, the gilded nail jewelry immediately caught our attention. This look is an example of how nail art can literally be jewelry instead of swirled lines or marbled effects you're used to — and we love every inch of it.
