Mining companies have so far paid K29.7 billion in mineral royalties under the new mining tax regime from an average of K5.2 billion that they used to contribute to the treasury per month in 2007.
Contrary to the sentiments of some sceptics in some circles both within and out side Zambia, mining houses operating in the country are showing themselves to be true partners with the people of Zambia.
