THE Rudd government says it's thrilled Elizabeth Blackburn has become Australia's first female Nobel laureate, labelling the scientist an inspiration.

DAYLIGHT saving will begin in New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania, the ACT and South Australia tomorrow.
