My eyes searched the field fruitlessly. About 30 minutes earlier Keith Enloe and I had watched a single tom turkey in full strut. For the next 15 minutes, we listened to three toms respond enthusiastically to every call Enloe made.
Crab Orchard - Crappie action is excellent. Crappie are nearing spawn mode. Fish are holding over shallow cover and can be caught on minnows and jigs. Catfish are steady on cut bait throughout the lake. Bluegill are moving into spawning
Crab Orchard - Crappie action remains excellent. Crappie aren't spawning yet, but have moved to the banks. Minnows and jigs are equally effective. Bluegill are also moving close to the beds and are being caught in good numbers on crickets
